First day in Sunday School

Yesterday was Elisabeth's first time in Sunday School! We're going to straddle the fence and let her go to Sunday School during the education hour, and (until her third birthday) nursery during the service. The first week seemed to go well, and she loves her new teacher!

What age does SS start? Katelyn went last year when she was only 16 months old! They had just lowered the age to 1 and, of course, that was more for me to be able to attend SS without chasing my 1 year old around. Being in the youngest class it was held in the nursery so at first she did a lot of playing, but she soon caught on to listening to the lesson and participating in the coloring. Kari

Officially SS starts at age 3, but Elisabeth will turn 3 mid-school year, so we decided to start her now. Your experience with Katelyn is a great reminder that kids can start even younger!

I'm sure Elisabeth will do great being the smart, attentive girl that she is. Does your church offer nursery care during SS for children under the age of 3? We've been wondering about that in thinking ahead to our new church.

Yes. There is nursery care during both morning services, and during the Sunday school hour.
