Cake

Last night we had one of those moments that we had to stiffle overwhelming laughter as we were doing Elisabeth's questions. I read Elisabeth Question 41 of the catechism, which asks,

What does every sin deserve?
She replied,
"Cake."
I did my best to explain that sin deserves wrath, not cake, [while not roaring with laughter] in a way that a 2 1/2 year old might understand.

That is hilarious. Any idea where she got that from?

I think I took a class in Elisabeth's school of catechism. Maybe that's why I've been in so much trouble...

Don't forget to write these things down for her to have when she's older!

Jon, I don't have a clue where it came from . . . which only made it all the more hilarious.

And Donna, you've nailed one of my reasons for blogging - to preserve such expressions for posterity. I'm going to print and bind each month's archives so our kids can look back with smiles on their childhoods. (In fact, it was a spiral-bound notebook that Jon's mom kept which inspired me to write these things down!)
